We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you!

The film club is undergoing a major transformation in the way we handle our online presence.

Today, we are launching our new blog and an online film forum to go with it.

Our goal

We believe that films are not just entertainment but also a medium to explore profound ideas and perspectives.

We have always envisioned The Parallel Cinema Club as a community where we engage in deep philosophical, academic and personal opinions on cinema. And we want to invite more people to join us on this intellectual journey.

What's New?

1. TPCC Blog: Long-form content on cinema

Some ideas need enough space to be fully expressed.

The TPCC Blog will be a place where we publish long-form content about films and their analysis.

We want a place where we can express our views on cinema extensively and thoughtfully, without the constraints that social media platforms implicitly place on long-form content. So far our website has been a place for us to publish notes on our monthly curations. But going forward, we want to cover broader topics.

The blog will also be a place open to all members of our community to contribute their reviews, film analyses, and essays. A place where you can pen down your own perspectives on cinema and share with the rest of the community.

If you like writing about films, we'd be very happy to hear from you! Please share the final draft to us at theparallelcinemaclub@gmail.com with the subject "Article for the TPCC Blog". We'll get in touch.

2. TPCC Forum: Discussions on cinema

Some conversations also need enough space and time to reach their potential.

The TPCC Forum will be a space for all of us to share our thoughts, ask questions, and engage in lively discussions with fellow film lovers.

We have already been having some amazing discussions on our several WhatsApp and Telegram groups. But group chats have their limitations. They provide no easy way to have discussions on multiple topics simultaneously, nor do they make it easy to continue conversations over a period of time.

Online forum offers several advantages over traditional group chats. Forums provide a more organized and accessible platform we can keep going back to conversations over several days, weeks, or months.

Here is a summary of a few benefits we see in moving conversations over to a dedicated forum:

  • Threaded Conversations: Unlike group chats, forums allow for threaded discussions, making it easier to follow and participate in specific topics and also engage in multiple topic simultaneously.
  • Discoverability: Forums come with tags, and are searchable, enabling you to find past discussions without scrolling through endless chat history.
  • Longevity: Conversations on forums are preserved and can be revisited over time, providing a lasting resource for members.

How to Get Involved?

  • Submit Your Articles: Go through our writing and publishing guidelines and share your writing or idea with us at theparallelcinemaclub@gmail.com. Our editorial team will reach out to you and work with you to get your writing published on the blog.
  • Join the Forum: Simply create an account on our forum and dive into the discussions. Whether you're a seasoned cinephile or a casual viewer, your voice matters, and we want to hear from you.

Stay tuned for more updates. Thank you for being a part of our film club, and here's to many more cinematic adventures together!
